A taste of spanish flavors with a pinch of history : explained itinerary

CEBADA MARKET

DISCOVER THE MARKET!

Hola! What better introduction to the Spanish way of eating than a tour through a Spanish Market? Follow your inner foodie into the insides of spanish culture: Among the historic streets of Malasaña you’ll find one of the remaining food markets of the city.

What we will discover inside is a diversity of local and fresh produce that shapes Spanish cuisine…

… Nothing but the essence of Spain: a fertile land wrapped in over 8,000 km of coastline.

GET COOKING!

What first awaits at the other side of the market is a complete Spanish cooking experience

Wondered how a lunch would look like if you were to try products from all around the Penninsula and you were to prepare it?!  Sangría, “chorizo a la sidra”, “Cabrales cheese”, “escalivada” and we are only getting started.

These tapas degustation will lead into a valencian seafood paella, that wouldn’t be as complete without a sweet ending: a traditional milhojas pastry that we will also prepare.

STARTERS

Cool-off with sangría

We’ll start our cooking experience with a relaxing SANGRÍA, we are in Spain, so it had to be wine, the summer way is to drink it mixed in with fruit, juice and ice.

STARTERS

For this one you will have to roll your sleeves ...

This will be our canvas for tasting products from all over Spain. Each participant will prepare their tapas by adding their own toppings. We will prepare some traditional tapas like “escalivada“- roasted vegetables and “chorizo a la sidra” – chorizo cooked in Asturian cider. From Asturias we will also try Cabrales cheese and from Castile and Leon some creamy goat cheese with caramelized onions and peppers.

MAIN

All the way from the Community of valencia... ¡PAELLA!

But let’s not forget about the iconic flavors all the way from the Community of Valencia. A well-made seafood paella is what you get when you combine perfectly seasoned rice with fresh Mediterranean seafood.

DESSERT

Travel back in time with a rediscovered chocolate recipe

Experience the Spanish adaptation of the bitter Aztec chocolate, infused with exotic spices from Asia including cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, clove, and vanilla.

Savor this aromatic blend between two layers of the flakiest, buttery puff pastry you’ll ever taste.

Top it off with a delightful almond and orange crunch for the perfect finishing touch.
